WHO WE ARE
West Seattle Democratic Women (WSDW) is an organization of Democrats – both
women and men – who enthusiastically engage in many political and civic events.
Formed right after World War II, and including some “Rosie the Riveters,” WSDW
was a vehicle for women who were once merely a women’s auxiliary to become a
force within our community.
WHAT WE DO: POLITICAL
Monthly meetings with presentations by experts on current issues
Lively discussion group at every other monthly meeting on timely topics
Host candidate forums – up close and personal
Invite elected officials for legislative briefings
Endorse candidates for office
Maintain a lending library of politically important books
WHAT WE DO: CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
Raise awareness of critical issues in West Seattle:
Human Trafficking
Climate Change
Support local non-profit organizations:
West Seattle Food Bank
White Center Food Bank
Southwest Youth and Family Services (SYFS)
Create interactive displays at community festival booths
